Outstanding Features

Small green leaves with cream stripes and lovely golden yellow culms with green striations are the main features of Kimmei . Although related to Buddha’s Belly bamboo Kimmei generally will not produce swollen internodes when grown in the Queensland environment.

Product Description

Kimmei grows rapidly even in harsh growing conditions, which like its relative, Buddha’s Belly Bamboo, is perfect for growing in containers or planted out to create a living screen in an area that receives little attention. Kimmei has quite an open form and when the lower branches are removed creates a spectacular stand of golden striated culms with bushy foliage atop. Also used for erosion control.
